CASL Express Consent Policy

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) governs commercial electronic messages sent to Canadians. AutoLoanCanada obtains express consent before contacting you for marketing purposes, keeps a record of that consent, and makes it easy to withdraw. This policy explains how.
The consent we ask for
On every form that collects your contact information, you are asked to check three separate, unticked boxes. The form cannot be submitted until all three are checked. The exact wording is:
- I consent to AutoLoanCanada and its dealer network contacting me by email, phone, and text/SMS regarding my application and vehicle financing options. I can withdraw this consent at any time.
- I understand my application will be shared with one or more Canadian automotive dealers and the lenders they work with so that they may review my information and contact me with financing offers.
- I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Our newsletter sign-up uses a separate, unticked checkbox confirming you wish to receive periodic marketing emails.
What we record
For each submission, we store a timestamped consent record containing:
- the exact text of each checkbox you were shown;
- whether each box was checked;
- the date and time (UTC);
- your IP address and browser user agent;
- a consent wording version, so we can prove which language you saw.
How to withdraw consent
You can withdraw consent at any time, at no cost:
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or write to unsubscribe@[domain];
- SMS: reply STOP to any text message;
- Anything else: contact us at privacy@[domain].
We honour SMS STOP requests promptly and within 10 business days at the latest. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect an application already shared with a dealer.
Our email and SMS practices
- Every marketing email includes one-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058) and an unsubscribe link in the body.
- Every marketing email identifies us and includes a valid mailing address and contact information.
- Every marketing SMS includes “Reply STOP to unsubscribe.”
